All successful applicants to The College of the North Atlantic-Qatar must write both an English and Math Test to determine their placement at the College. The Academic English Placement (AEP) and Academic Math Placement (AMP) Tests are placement tools administered to all new students enrolled in a diploma or certificate program in order to provide information about their academic skills in English and mathematics.
When applying to the college at the Registrar’s Office, you will be directed to the Testing Centre for a test date. AEP/AMP testing normally occurs on the Sunday and Monday of each week. Your test results will usually be available 5 – 10 days after the test and must be picked up at the Registrar’s Office. The CNA-Qatar Testing Centre cannot release test results.
The AEP Test is a computer and paper-based test designed to assess an applicant’s academic English language ability. Those students who meet the minimum test requirements are eligible to enter the college’s regular academic programs, subject to availability. Those who do not meet the minimum English or Math requirements can be placed in the college’s English for Specific Academic Purposes (ESAP) program to improve their academic English language ability. These ESAP classes provide Qatari students with the English language training necessary to prepare them for entry to their program of study.
