About Research at UDST

The University of Doha for Science and Technology focuses on applied research activities in a range of disciplines of direct relevance to solving issues of concern to industry, government and society as Qatar reaches to attain it national development goals of 2030. Through administrative support and active promotion to the country’s stakeholders, the Office of Applied Research and Innovation (OARI) seeks to maximize our impact in the community.

Services of OARI

OARI acts as the internal and external hub for applied research activity at the College of the North Atlantic-Qatar. OARI exists to facilitate the research activities of the college community by:

Delivering on UDST's community initiative to support applied research that contributes to the social and economic growth of the State of Qatar

Assisting the UDST research community in securing funding for research projects

Acting as a liaison between the UDST research community and the Qatar’s government, industry and other sectors to foster relationships that innovatively problem solve for local community and industry

Promoting UDST student involvement in research activities through the use of applied research as a vehicle for developing student research skills and workplace readiness (Applied Research = Applied Learning Model)

Administering research projects and contracts to ensure fiscal responsibility and timely and accurate delivery of results

Communicating the accomplishments of applied research activities at UDST through seminars, publications and news


Service Offerings

The College is well-equipped with chemical, biological and material analytical capabilities in engineering and health sciences. We also conduct research in areas of information technology and nusiness management. As a learning environment for skills-based education, UDST also has machine and electrical/electronics shops, 3-D printing and other capabilities that can provide services to industry and our research and educational partners.
