At CNA-Q there are many opportunities for students to receive scholarships and awards based on academic standing, and their contribution to campus life.
Each year the Rewarding Excellence Awards Ceremony is held in November to recognize our award-winning students.

Scholarships ​and awards the College offers are:

​​College of the North Atlantic – Qatar Honour Society​
Students are automatically admitted to Honour Society if they have achieved the highest grade point average (4.0) while taking a full course load during the last academic year
College of the North Atlantic – Qatar Highest Achiever Overall Scholarship​
Automatically awarded to the student with the highest weighted average at the College for the last academic year. The winner receives 20,000 Qatari Riyal cash award, an engraved Crystal and an official College certificate. Distinction of this award is noted on the student's official transcript.
Highest Achiever Scholarship for each School
Automatically awarded to the student with the highest weighted average in each of our four schools. Winners receive a 20,000 Qatari Riyals cash prize, an award crystal and an official College certificate. Distinction of this award is noted on the students’ official College transcript​
ORXY GTL Academic Excellence Award in Entrepreneurship
Awarded to a student who demonstrates outstanding entrepreneurship skills in the College or community. Winner receives a prize from sponsor, ORXY GTL. Students must apply for this award.​
​​ORXY GTL Academic Excellence Award in Leadership
Awarded to a student who demonstrates outstanding leadership skills in the College or community. Winner receives a prize from sponsor, ORXY GTL. Students must apply for this award.​
ORXY GTL Academic Excellence Award in Sport
Awarded to a student who demonstrates outstanding sport​s sponsorship in the College or community. Winner receives a prize from sponsor, ORXY GTL. Students must apply for this award.​

​ORYX GTL President’s Medal for Academic Excellence
Each year, one graduating student from each program is awarded the President’s Medal for the top academic standing in their program. This award is given at a gala ceremony in the Spring during the week of the annual Graduation Ceremony.​
ORXY GTL Academic Excellence Award in Health and Wellness
Awarded to a student who demonstrates outstanding contributions and professional skills in a healthcare environment in the College and/or during a work term. Winner receives a prize from sponsor, ORXY GTL. Students must apply for this award.​
College of the North Atlantic EFL Award​
Awarded to two students who have shown the most improvement in their language proficiency studies over the past school year. Selected by Faculty from the School of Language Studies and Academics, the winners will receive a 5000 Qatari Riyal​s​ cash award and a commemorative plaque.   ​
Merit Award
Awarded to one male and one female full-time student in each School, who have demonstrated outstanding commitment in achieving their educational goals. Recipients will receive a College crystal, a 5000 Qatari Riyal cash award and an official College certificate. This distinction is noted on students’ official transcript. ​
CNA-Q Memorial Scholarship
In memory of the late Telecommunications instructor, Glen Cameron, and all CNA-Q faculty and staff who have passed. It is awarded to a non-national student enrolled in Telecommunications and Network Engineering Technology program full-time. Applicants must apply for this award. The winner receives 10,000 Qatari Riyals and a College certificate. This distinction is also noted on the student’s official College transcript
Student Representative Council Scholarship 2016​
Three scholarships are awarded to non-sponsored students, enrolled in full-time diploma programs who have maintained a strong academic standing while facing financial challenges. Winners will be award 10,000 Qatari Riyal​s paid in two instalments for Fall 2016 and Winter 2017. ​

Criteria for Awards and Scholarships

  1. Awards administered by the College are provided upon the recommendation of the Awards Committee.
  2. Application forms for awards administered by the College are available at the Registrar’s Office. Unless otherwise stated, applications are not required in order to be considered for medals, scholarships, or prizes.
  3. No scholarship will be awarded to a candidate who holds an award of equal or greater value, unless specifically required by the terms of the award. Certain conditions apply.
  4. To be eligible for any award, a student must be registered as a full-time student in a recognized CNA-Q program.
  5. The eligibility y criteria for awarding a scholarship will be:
    • Candidates should be in clear academic standing with a minimum 2.5 GPA.
    • At least 80% of the credits accumulated at the point of consideration for awards must have been obtained at the College.

​Weighted Average

A student’s weighted average can be defined as the sum of a course grade multiplied by the course value (credit), divided by the sum of the course values (all credits).

Candidates must have attained a passing grade in ALL courses being considered in establishing weighted average. Marks obtained in supplementary exams will be considered in the calculation of the weighted average.
