The Diploma in Applied Accounting (Dip. A. Acct) is a 2-year program that prepares graduates with knowledge skills and competencies to begin a career in accounting

In the program students are introduced to accounting practices, accounting technologies, fundamental business concepts and soft skills. Students gain hands on experiential learning through applied activities and the use of accounting technologies.

Graduates of the Diploma in Applied Accounting (Dip. A. Acct) are eligible for entrance into the third year of the Applied Business Administration in Applied Accounting (B.A.BA A Acct) or the Bachelor of Applied Business Administration in Banking and Financial Technology (B.A.BA BK FinTech) programs.

1. Analyze business activities and record accounting transactions related to items such as expenses, revenues, assets, and liabilities.
2. Maintain control and subsidiary accounts via activities such as posting sales, receipts, purchases, and payments.
3. Prepare a variety of reports such as payroll registers, expense reports, inventory balances, and VAT reports.
4. Summarize and report financial information by providing account balances, interim reports, and financial statements.
5. Post adjusting and closing entries as necessary to complete the accounting cycle.
6. Follow and verify internal control processes and procedures to ensure the integrity of the accounting system and to protect assets.
   
7. Maintain appropriate records and assist management by answering questions, helping with audits, and performing reconciliations of various accounts.
   
8. Liaise with colleagues and other departments in the exchange of information, while working collectively to optimize overall performance.
9. Apply program skills and concepts in the workplace.

1. The required score on the University English Placement Test or a passing score from another approved internationally recognized English language test, as validated by the Admissions & Registration Department; OR

   
   

2. A valid (within two years) IELTS Academic Test Report Form with an overall band of 5.0 with no individual band score (reading, writing, speaking, and listening) below 5.0; OR

3. Successful completion of Foundation Program requirements.
