The main courtyard of College of the North Atlantic-Qatar (CNA-Q) was transformed into a shimmering oasis, as the College recently hosted a gala dinner to welcome back former students.
More than 200 former students of CNA-Q joined tables with their faculty, Deans and other leaders of the College, filling the courtyard to hear speakers, like former President Dr. Ken MacLeod at the annual Alumni celebration.
“You studied together, worried about exams together, and celebrated each other’s cultures and diversity at events like Souk Areej. You cheered for each other at awards night and graduation, and supported each other in times of difficulty,” Said Dr. MacLeod. “No matter where your life takes you, I hope you always feel part of the CNA-Q family, and that you continue to attend these family gatherings.”
Other speakers during the evening included Mr. Hussain Al Marri, who graduated from the Human Resource Management program at CNA-Q in 2014. He is currently working as a Procedure coordinator at QatarGas, and is also a member of the CNA-Q Academic Council. And, Qatari celebrity Mr. Q, the founder of the I Love Qatar Network entertained the crowd with his lively presentation about the importance of networking.
Prior to the dinner, the afternoon’s agenda included the four schools at the College – the School of Business Studies, the School of Engineering Technology and Industrial Trades, the School of Health Sciences, and the School of information Technology - hosting their own events for former students.
Since its inception in 2002, CNA-Q has grown to offer 30 diploma and certificate programs, graduating thousands students from full-time programs who have populated the workforce in Qatar or pursued further education. This year marks the 17th year that CNA-Q has been providing high-quality experiential technical education in Qatar to support the State’s strategic vision to educate, develop and retain young Qataris.
