College of the North Atlantic – Qatar and Seashore Group sign MOU

College of the North Atlantic - Qatar (CNA-Q) and Seashore Group have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aims at strengthening cooperation and coordination in areas related to both entities so as to serve the educational process and support CNA-Q students to achieve integration between institutions of higher education and the private sector.

The MOU was signed by Dr. Salem Bin Nasser Al-Naemi, Acting president of CNA-Q and the Executive Chairman of Seashore Group, Salem Bin Saeed Al-Muhannadi, at a ceremony held at CNA-Q attended by executives and leadership from both parties. “We are extremely pleased to be here today signing this document developed as a part of the college search for new and strong partnership with the private sector,” said Dr. Salem Bin Nasser Al-Naemi. “This MOU will contribute to increasing coordination in various areas including training, organization of workshops and conferences so as to serve the educational process and provide sponsorship opportunities. We look forward to seeing outcomes of this sign for our institutions and our students, and we hope this cooperation will achieve its desired goals in order to enrich the educational experience and support Qatar’s National Vision 2030.” “Seashore Group sought to achieve a partnership with educational institutions in Qatar in order for this community participation in education to be as participation from the Group to the community with all its institutions, individuals and groups.” Said Salem Bin Saeed Al-Muhannadi. “The first of these partnerships will be with CNA-Q to benefit from experiences of the educational system in it as Seashore Group aims to contribute to strengthening the private sector role in the Qatari economy and creating opportunities and challenges that advance the development process.” MOU aims at developing a framework for mutual cooperation between CNA-Q and the Seashore Group including the establishment of Seashore student scholarships program to sponsor a number of students yearly, aside to increasing mutual cooperation opportunities in areas of training, organization of workshops, conferences and other bilateral initiatives. Seashore Group will be a member in the consultative committees for the related programs in the college, with the support of visits by students and scholars to explore potential applied scientific research opportunities and discover mutual collaborative research opportunities which are based on recycling, along with ensuring opportunities for academic members and students to visit firms and industrial facilities of the Seashore Group.

This means taking advantage of the mutual experiences between the two parties to increase the knowledge and experience of the college students and the academic members; ensuring opportunities for practical training for students with the Seashore Group and promoting employment opportunities for the college graduates. CNA-Q opened in 2002 after a world-wide search to bring the best technical and vocational training to the State of Qatar, in support of the booming energy and industry sector. CNA-Q has graduated thousands of students from more than 30 certificate and diploma programs tailored to meet the needs of Qatar’s growing and changing economy, in the fields of: Business Administration and Information Technology, Engineering Technology and Industrial Trades and Health Sciences. All programs follow Canadian curriculum, are developed with input from local industry and business stakeholders, and are taught by international instructors with extensive industry experience. Seashore Group is one of the largest industrial groups started to act in 1989 to cover various areas representing the cornerstone of industry in Qatar, such as iron, galvanization, auto body, recycling, hydraulics, fuel injection system, etc., covering more than fourteen areas. Seashore Group is proud of being an integral part of the rapid development system that the state of Qatar witnesses as the Group defined its goals to keep pace with Qatar’s National Vision 2030 to contribute to enhancing the role of the private sector in the Qatari economy, ensuring opportunities and challenges that advance the development process and supporting youth talents in all areas of education, culture and sport.
