The CNA-Q Testing Centre is an approved testing site for IELTS. IELTS measures ability to communicate in English across all four language skills - listening, reading, writing, and speaking.

CNA-Qatar offers different versions of IELTS:

  1. Academic:  The Academic test is for those who want to study at a post-secondary institution where English is the main language of the course work. 
  2. General Training:  The General test is for work experience, to take training programs, enroll in secondary school or migrate to an English-speaking country.
  3. Life Skills:  IELTS Life Skills is a test of Speaking and Listening, available at CEFR Level A1 and CEFR Level B1. It is designed to meet the requirements of UK Visas and Immigration for certain visa categories and other immigration purposes.

Taking IELTS or IELTS for UKVI test at CNA-Qatar means:

  • Online and in-person registration
  • Small test rooms with a maximum of 30 candidates
  • Good quality sound system for the Listening test (no headphones)
  • All writing utensils and water supplied by CNA-Qatar IELTS Centre
  • Written test and Speaking test at the CNA-Qatar campus

How to get to CNA-Q?  

To register for an IELTS test, you will need an original, valid passport or Qatari National ID (for Qataris only), as well as the test fee. Photocopies, photos on a cell phone, expired or cancelled passports are not accepted.

You must bring the same identification document (passport or QID) you registered with to all parts of the IELTS test.

Registration

You must arrive at the Registration Desk at CNA-Q in Building 3 or Building 5 between 7:30 am and 8:45 am. Registration closes at 8:45 a.m. and the test starts at 9:00 am. Please refer to the Confirmation email you received before the test day. 

Anyone arriving after 8:45 am is marked ‘Absent” and will not be able to take the test. There are no transfers or refunds.

ID Document

On test day, you must bring the same ID you registered with. If you bring a photocopy of the ID or a different ID/passport, you will not be allowed to write the test. There are no transfers or refunds. 

If you give your passport to an embassy for a visa, ensure you will receive your passport in time for the test. 

If your ID/passport has expired, you will not be able to write the test.


What to Bring into the Test Room

You are only allowed to bring your ID. The CNA-Q IELTS Centre provides pencils/pens, erasers and water.


Speaking Test

The speaking test might be on the same day as the written test, or it might be 7 days before or 2 days after the written test. You will receive an email and an SMS with the date of your speaking test in advance. 

Arrive 20 minutes before your scheduled speaking time. Bring the same ID/passport you used to take the test.


        

How do I get my results?

Results are available 13 days after the test. You can check your results online here 13 days after the test. 

Provisional results are sent by SMS to candidates who click the “receive results by SMS” box when they apply online. 

The CNA-Q IELTS Centre cannot guarantee that Ooredoo, Vodaphone or any other mobile service provider can deliver the SMS to you. Please note, we cannot send an SMS to a non-Qatari mobile number. 

Official results are issued on a Test Report Form (TRF), which you must pick up from the CNA-Q IELTS Centre. You receive one copy for yourself. You can request multiple copies to be sent to recognizing organizations (universities, colleges and immigration departments).

How do I send copies of my TRF to other institutions?

When you register online, you can add up to 5 recognizing organizations to your application. The CNA-Q IELTS Centre will send copies of your TRF to these institutions. If you need to send more TRFs, complete the Application for the Issue of Additional TRFS form with the appropriate fees.

What do I do if I lose my Test Report Form?

IELTS policy stipulates that candidates receive only one copy of the Test Report Form. No exceptions.

Can I send someone to get my results for me?

Yes. You need to complete an Authorisation Form. The person picking up your results must bring the completed Authorization Form, your original ID used on test day and the person’s own original ID.

What can I do if I am unhappy with my results?

You may apply for an Enquiry on Results (EoR) within six weeks of test date.  Please complete the IELTS Enquiry on Results form and pay the fee.  The fee is refunded if your band score increases.

IELTS Life Skills is for people who need to show that their English speaking and listening skills at Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) levels A1 or B1.
