Irene O’Brien has 18 years of experience in the healthcare industry as a medical radiation technologist, and holds the advanced certification designation of AC(R). from the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT). She chaired the national committee on education for CAMRT for six years and served on the CAMRT Board of Directors from 2007 to 2009. She was a medical radiography instructor with College of the North Atlantic in Newfoundland before joining College of the North Atlantic – Qatar as a clinical instructor in 2008.
She was a driving force behind the accreditation process for Medical Radiography Technology program, which was awarded by the Canadian Medical Association in 2011. Irene herself is a graduate of the Medical Radiography program at College of the North Atlantic, and holds a Bachelor of Vocational Education degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland and a Master of Distance Education from Athabasca University in Canada.
