International APC I and II are adopted from the popular ASIS International APC series in North America but modified to meet the needs of international security practitioners. In particular, the Doha program will be a Middle East focused curriculum.
International APC I covers the fundamental aspects of assets protection and security management for individuals new to the profession or looking to advance within the security industry. It provides a basis toward advanced development. International APC I can also serve as a refresher course for more experienced security practitioners, as well as an overview for non-security personnel. This course is essential for all professionals involved in the protection of assets. Immerse yourself in security information— from investigative work and risk analysis to workplace violence and regional legal issues. Course materials include handouts and references, as well as selected chapters from the Protection of Assets Manual (POA).
International APC II is the natural follow-up to “Introduction to Security Management” by taking the concepts and fundamentals learned and employing them toward a practical application. Security applications relating to CCTV and video, access control, barriers, integration and risk management are a sampling of the topics covered. Course materials include handouts and references, as well as selected chapters from the Protection of Assets Manual (POA).
Since September 11, 2001, the American Petroleum Institute (API) and its member companies have been working hard to protect oil and natural gas facilities around the world from the possibility of security threats. Bolstering this effort are two API documents produced in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and other federal agencies: Security Guidelines for the Petroleum Industry is now in its second edition. And Security Vulnerability Assessment for the Petroleum and Petrochemical Industries, published jointly with the National Petrochemical and Refiners Association. This course will define the relevance of the API-DBT process and how it relates to threat, risk and vulnerability assessments for critical infrastructure sites specific to energy interests by outlining the objective and demonstrating the API process.
