Graduation Day

1. You must arrive at the Sheraton Hotel at 5:00 p.m. Advise your guests that the doors close at 6:45 p.m.

2. Use the Al Dafna entrance to the Sheraton Hotel.

3. Follow signs to the dressing rooms for males and females.

4. Ladies: please leave purses with your family; Everyone: leave cell phones with family.

5. At the Registration Desk, you will receive a card with your name and program on it. Take this card with you to present on stage so that your name will be read correctly. You will also receive a Graduation Program. If you are receiving the President’s Award for Academic Excellence for your program, this will also appear on your card. The Presenter will announce the award when you walk across the stage.

6. College faculty will be present to assist you with lining up your group. Be sure to keep your place in line.

7. There will be a procession into Al Dafna Hall where you will be seated. You will be advised regarding the protocol for entering the room. When all graduates and faculty are seated, the ceremony will commence.

8. When your program is called, you will be guided to the stage. One by one, you will move to the stage and give your card to the Presenter who will announce your name. When your name is called, proceed to the centre stage to receive your parchment folder. The parchment folder contains a "Congratulations" letter.

9. After the presentation, you will receive a gift from the Alumni Association. Exit the stage and return to the first available seat in the reserved section.

10. If you are receiving the President’s Award for Academic Excellence. You will be called to the stage a second time to receive your medal.

11. After the ceremony, you will return immediately to the dressing rooms to return your cap and gown. Graduates will receive their official diplomas at this time. Potential graduates will receive a letter from the President. (official diplomas will be issued upon successful completion of program requirements).
