Peer Tutoring

Peer tutoring is available to help you if you are having difficulty with a particular course or courses. Tutoring provides one-on-one support to supplement classroom instruction to enhance your chances of success in your program.

Tutoring involves students helping students. Therefore, you would be tutored by another student who has either successfully completed your course, or is currently doing well in that course.

To Receive Tutoring

If you are concerned about a particular area you should first speak with your instructor.
Pick up a tutoring application from your counsellor.

If your request is approved:

  • Your counsellor and instructor will work to match you with a tutor
  • You will receive up to 15 hours of tutoring for the semester
  • Tutoring will take place at a mutually agreed upon time and place
  • You will be expected to attend classes regularly

To Become a Peer Tutor

If you are interested in becoming a peer tutor, you can pick up an application form from your counsellor. You must be recommended by an instructor who can attest to your ability to tutor successfully.
