Since September 11, 2001, the American Petroleum Institute (API) and its member companies have been working hard to protect oil and natural gas facilities around the world from the possibility of security threats. Bolstering this effort are two API documents produced in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and other federal agencies: ‘Security Guidelines for the Petroleum Industry' is now in its second edition and ‘Security Vulnerability Assessment for the Petroleum and Petrochemical Industries', published jointly with the National Petrochemical and Refiners Association.
This course will define the relevance of the API-DBT process and how it relates to threat, risk and vulnerability assessments for critical infrastructure sites specific to energy interests by outlining the objective and demonstrating the API process.
