Shirley Carroll comes to the Registrar's position at CNA-Q from the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton, Canada where she was the Associate Registrar - Admissions for the past five years.
Shirley's background in the academic side of post-secondary education spans more than 20 years and three provinces. Beginning as an English instructor in Burin, Newfoundland, she also taught Business programs in New Brunswick and Alberta, where she was an instructor at Keyano College in Fort McMurray for five years and Program Chair at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) for 12 years before moving to full-time administration at UNB.
A dedicated life-long learner, Shirley's Master's degree in Adult and Higher Education from the University of Alberta is based on a thesis examining the Instructor Preparation Program offered by NAIT to new instructors. Throughout her tenure at NAIT, she mentored new instructors and facilitated their transition into the world of teaching. She also taught in the Faculty of Education at the University of New Brunswick. Through her company Lark Education Consulting, she has provided training workshops for industry, government, and non-profit associations.
Always an energetic and enthusiastic instructor, Shirley's passion for technical education is evident in her commitment to effective post-secondary administration.
