Glenn Thorne - VP of IT and Learning Resources

Glenn Thorne brings over twenty years of academic and business experience to the position of Vice President of IT and Learning Resources. He has worked in private business and as an educator in several different capacities.

His most recent position as Dean of the School of Information Technology was preceded by his role as Chair - Information Communications Technology and Business Studies programs, when Glenn was responsible for providing academic leadership to faculty in both schools. He has also taken leadership roles in student scheduling, profiling, accreditation and other college initiatives.

Glenn's formal education consists of a Masters of Information Systems at Athabasca University as well as a B.Sc. in Computer Science degree from Memorial University. He also holds several industry certifications and a certificate in Leadership and Development from the Chair Academy.

Mr. Thorne has significant experience in assimilating complex computer technology in an educational setting. He was heavily involved in the design, installation and successful implementation of the first educational LANs at CNA in Newfoundland and has been a strong advocate of computer technology in the classroom. Mr. Thorne also has many years of experience in the private sector, in both the retail and value-added reseller computer markets.
