Enid Strickland - VP Academic Affairs

Enid Strickland brings three decades of college teaching, program development and administrative experience to the position of Vice President Academic Affairs. Ms. Strickland has performed the roles of Provincial Program Development Coordinator and Chair of School of Applied Arts with the College of the North Atlantic in Canada. In her most recent assignment as Chair of Programs, she provided executive leadership to the programs office, school chairs, and campus-based administrators. She was also recently on secondment to the Director of Programs position at the Nunavut Arctic College, 2001.

Ms. Strickland's formal education began with a college Diploma of Applied Arts. She holds a B.Ed. in Education from Memorial University of Newfoundland, and a Master of Education from the University of New Brunswick.

Ms. Strickland was Coordinator of the Atlantic Colleges Development Institute (a professional development institute for faculty and management of colleges in Atlantic Canada) during 1999 and 2000. Enid also assisted College of the North Atlantic's International Office with special projects in Peru and Jordan.

A noted expert in tourism and hospitality training and development, Ms. Strickland has served on a number of provincial and community committees including the Advisory Committee for the Department of Tourism and Hospitality, Newfoundland and Labrador. She has also worked with various charitable and non-profit organizations.

Ms. Strickland holds a management certificate from P.A. Douglas & Associates Inc., is a certified Daccum facilitator and has completed the College Leadership program through St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia, Canada.
