Welcome to the School of Language Studies and Academics (LSA). The LSA department offers a wide range of preparatory and program support courses in the areas of English as a Foreign Language, Biology, Chemistry, Communications, Mathematics and Physics. The school also offers a wide suite of continuing education and contract training courses to meet the needs of the community, business and industry.
The Language Studies sub-department uses an integreated skills ESP approach in its course delivery. Students may progress from the beginner through to the advanced level of English language that prepares them to enter their program of study.
The Academics Sub-department offers mathematics and science preparatory courses to introduce students to topics required to succeed in ther program of studies. Credit courses in math and science are also offered in all program areas.
The department also manages CNA-Q's testing center that conducts placement and exit testing for CNA-Q students as well as a wide range of international tests such as IELTS and CAEL.
LSA, CNA-Q's largest school, is actively involved in many student success initiatives such as operating the college's Advanced Writing Center, Mathematics Help Center, Independent Learning Center and participating in college-wide iniatives offered by the Teaching and Learning Center.
