Welcome to the School of Language Studies and Academics (LSA).  LSA offers a wide range of preparatory and program support courses in the areas of English as a Foreign Language, biology, chemistry, communications, mathematics and physics. The school also offers a wide range of continuing education and contract training courses to meet the needs of the community, business and industry.

The Language Studies department uses an integrated skills approach to teach English for Specific Purposes (ESP) in its course delivery. Students may progress from a beginner through to an advanced level of English language which will prepare them to enter their programs of study.

The Academics department of LSA offers mathematics and science preparatory courses to introduce students to topics required to succeed in their program of studies. Credit courses in math and science are also offered in other program areas.

The department also manages CNA-Q's Testing Centre.  The Testing Centre conducts placement and exit testing for CNA-Q students as well as international tests such as IELTS and CAEL.

LSA, CNA-Q's largest school, is actively involved in many student success initiatives such as operating the college's Advanced Writing Centre, Mathematics Help Centre, Independent Learning Centre and participating in college-wide initiatives offered by the Teaching and Learning Centre.
