Dr. Theodore Chiasson
Dean - School of Information Technology

Welcome to the School of Information Technology. We offer diplomas and advanced diplomas in Information Systems with a focus on either Hardware or Software.

The Information Systems - Software diploma program is a comprehensive training program including introductory courses for those who do not have any computer background. It places emphasis on programming, Internet development, systems analysis and design, and development of database management systems.

The Information Systems - Hardware program trains students to design, install, and maintain personal and corporate computers and computer networks and systems. It gives students a strong knowledge base of local and wide area networking, Internet/Intranet connectivity, network administration and the ability to function effectively with many new technologies.

The Information Systems – Web Developer advanced diploma program focuses on designing, implementing and maintaining advanced web applications. The program provides a complete set of essential skills for Web Developers using the most up-to-date techniques and software. Graduates will have in-depth knowledge of web server management, web security tools, and web application development environments.

The Information Systems – Network and Systems Administration advanced diploma program places emphasis on training students to design, install, and maintain personal and corporate computers and LAN/WAN computer networks and systems. It provides students with a strong knowledge base of local and wide area networking Internet/Intranet and network administration.

Across all of our diploma programs, students receive hands-on experience using the latest computer and Internet technologies. An emphasis is placed on soft skills and working in a team environment. All students complete a work term as part of their studies, providing real world experience and allowing them to apply what they have learned in the labs and the classroom.

Our diploma programs are accredited by the Canadian Information Processing Society (CIPS), which is an internationally recognized accrediting body for information technology programs.

At the School of Information Technology, we deliver the skills needed to keep pace with technology as it continues to evolve and impact every facet of our daily lives - we prepare students for the jobs of the future!
